Text Analysis

Text analysis is curiosity. Text analysis is not about getting it right. Thorough and exhaustive text analysis is the scaffolding to which we hang our inspiration. We begin to delineate the code embedded in the text - not from a place of trying to get it right, but from a combination of honouring the writer’s intent, honouring the world of the story, and honouring our own sense of artistry. The actor’s life experience is in there, all of us is alive in this process. This is a solitary pursuit at first - it becomes collaboration in rehearsal and on-set.
